Chairman, Uniccon Group

Dr Chuks Ekwueme

Chuks Ekwueme is a Nigerian entrepreneur and the CEO of the Uniccon Group of Companies, which he founded in 2020. Through the Uniccon Group, his aim is to assist Africans, both businesses and households, in accessing the most innovative and impactful solutions to realise their full potential. The Uniccon Group specialises in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), software development, e-commerce, agricultural value chain supply, and export logistics. It also excels in jewellery and offers international business consulting and advisory services. In October 2022, at the GITEX trade fair in Dubai, which took place from October 10 to 14, 2022, Chuks unveiled the first humanoid robot developed by the group. This achievement marked a significant milestone as it was the first of its kind in Africa. The robot, named Omeife, can communicate in multiple local and international languages, including Igbo, French, English, Arabic, and Afrikaans. During his presentation, Chuks explained that the humanoid robot was a project undertaken by the Stem Focus Lab, a division within the Uniccon Group of Companies. Remarkably, the robot was completed just two days before GITEX 2022. Chuks has also developed various other solutions, including SmartMedicare, SmartWorks, SmartFree, Payfocuss, and CloudFocus. In April 2022, he launched a US$40 million cybersecurity solution called Lossless Security. This comprehensive solution offers organisations a wide range of cyber protection services, including endpoint defence, fraud detection, and data transfer encryption. Since 2009, this serial entrepreneur has served as the director of Coevis World, a distributor of gypsum-based construction materials in Nigeria. From 2014 to 2016, he worked as the chief technical officer and consultant for Divine Rewardn Services, a supplier of construction chemicals and structural sealant technologies. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Chuks received the Excellence in Technology and Community Development Award at the Peace Achievers International Award in October 2022.
